Solid oak base with original black lacquered elements and original ebony handles on the doors. Original black lacquered top. Locks and keys are in good working order. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco bookcase by Jan Brunott is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
