Amazing and rare Art Deco Modernist coat rack. Design by P.E.L. Izeren for De Genneper Molen. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak with solid walnut elements. Seven original solid macassar ebony hooks. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Marked with original manufacturers stamp and labels! The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco open bookcase is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
