Stunning and rare Art Deco Modernist bookcase. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak with original macassar ebony handles on both doors. The backside panels are also made out of solid oak. Four original solid oak shelves, adjustable in height. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. We will ship this lovely piece of furniture dismantled in a custom made wooden crate for safe transport when purchased by overseas buyers! The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco bookcase is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
