Stunning and rare Art Deco Modernist bench or sofa. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak and oak veneered frame with re-upholstered seat and back cushion, this was done by the former owner some ten years ago. We can do new upholstery if you like. In very good restored condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher for your home or office. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco bench or sofa is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
