Magnificent and rare set of eight Art Deco Modernist chairs. This set of eight was designed and manufactured by Fa. Randoe Haarlem for the City Hall of Haarlem. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak frames with original black lacquered lining. The backs and seats are re-upholstered with quality black leather. In very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher in your home or office. The Modernist look of this wonderful set of eight Art Deco chairs by Fa. Randoe Haarlem is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
