Magnificent and ultra rare Art Deco Modernist cabinet. Design by Jan den Drijver for De Stijl Den Haag. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Original solid oak base with original black lacquered linoleum top. Two glass sliding doors. Marked with original manufacturers paper label. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher in your home or office. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco cabinet by Jan den Drijver for De Stijl Den Haag is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
