Magnificent and rare Art Deco Modernist tea cabinet or serving cabinet. Design by Jan Brunott. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid walnut and original black lacquered knobs on the two doors. Original black lacquered elements and original glass in both doors. In very good refinished condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco tea cabinet or serving cabinet by Jan Brunott is also known in The Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
