Stunning and rare Art Deco Modernist open bookcase. Design by Jan Brunott. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak base with original black lacquered top and lining. Three original solid oak shelves, adjustable in height. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher for your home or office. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco open bookcase by Jan Brunott is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
