Stunning and rare Art Deco Modernist armoire or wardrobe. Design by Fer Semey for H. Pander & Zonen Den Haag. Striking Belgium/ Dutch design from the 1930s. Original lacquered softwood frame with three doors. Behind the door with the original mirror, you will find four original lacquered wooden shelves, one has the original drawer. The hanging section is behind the two wooden doors with a metal bar for hanging clothes. Marked with original manufacturers metal tag and two original keys. We will ship this lovely piece of furniture dismantled in a custom made wooden crate for safe transport when purchased by overseas buyers! In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco armoire or wardrobe is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
