Magnificent and ultra rare pair of Art Deco Modernist high back armchairs. Design by Cor Alons and executed by Fa. Winterkamp & Van Putten in 1927. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak and black lacquered base with original black lacquered refinished back rests.Seats are re-upholstered with mustard yellow Manchester corduroy fabric. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher for your home or office. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco pair of high back armchairs by Cor Alons and executed by Fa. Winterkamp & Van Putten is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
