Magnificent and rare pair of Art Deco Modernist bed frames. Design by Hendrik Wouda for H. Pander & Zonen Den Haag. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. This wonderful pair of Art Deco Modernist bed frames by Hendrik Wouda is made out of solid oak and consists of the pair of head boards and the pair of foot boards. This used to be a list-jumeaux but the supports are missing because this set was used in combination with a hotel mattress. In very good original condition with a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this rare set ia also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
