Magnificent and rare Art Deco Modernist serving table. Design by Hendrik Wouda for H. Pander & Zonen. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak frame with original macassar and lacquer knobs on the drawer and pull out slides. Marked with original manufacturers metal tag and original key. In very good condition with a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco serving table is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known Dutch architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
