Stunning Art Deco Modernist coffee table. Design by Hendrik Wouda for H. Pander & Zonen Den Haag. Striking Dutch design from 1924. Solid oak base with original solid oak top. Marked with original manufacturers metal tag and stamp. In very good condition consistent with age and use preserving a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco coffee table is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known Dutch architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
