Stunning and rare Art Deco Haagse School cabinet. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak and oak veneer frame with solid macassar ebony knobs on the four doors. The panels in the four doors are veneered with macassar ebony. In very good condition with a beautiful patina. The Modernist look of this wonderful and rare Art Deco cabinet is also known in The Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
