Stunning Mid-Century Modern lounge chair. Design by Aksel Bender Madsen for Bovenkamp. Striking Danish design from the 1960s. Solid oak frame with solid teak curved armrests which goes around the backside also. Re-upholstered with quality Italian fabric. Bovenkamp was a Dutch furniture maker during the 1950s and 1960s and based in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Bovenkamp used designers like Aksel Bender Madsen to integrate Danish influences and craftsmanship in their furniture making. This elegant shaped lounge chair is known as Model Karen with the neck pillow. In very good condition with a beautiful patina.
