Magnificent and rare Art Deco Modernist coffee table. Design by P.E.L. Izeren for De Genneper Molen. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak and original oak veneered base with solid macassar ebony decorative elements. The top is original with oak veneer and macassar ebony veneer. Marked with original manufacturers stamp and labels. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher in your home or office! The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco coffee table by P.EL. Izeren for De Genneper Molen is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
