Magnificent and ultra rare Art Deco Amsterdamse School high-back side chair. Design by Michel de Klerk in 1916 for the boardroom of the SMN in Het Scheepvaarthuis in Amsterdam, which is now Grand Hotel Amrâth. We believe that this is a later version possibly manufactured by ’t Woonhuys around 1925/30. Striking Dutch design. This wonderful Art Deco Amsterdamse School high-back side chair by Michel de Klerk is in good original condition with some wear on the leather on both sides, scratches and tear due to a cat consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
